Smart Alerts®
Smart Alerts use
algorithms to continuously analyze sample data on all patients in the eCareManager™
database to help clinicians identify trends toward potential problems. As a result, clinicians are able to intervene sooner and keep problems
from developing into serious conditions.

| Heart Rate Trend prompt is triggered when there
is a defined increase in heart rate trend above the patients
established baseline over a fixed time period (the baseline
value is in brackets followed by the triggered value). |
There are three types of Smart Alerts:
 |
Patient
Status Alerts identify a change in patient status that
requires prompt attention by bedside clinicians. These Smart Alerts are presented
to a dedicated monitoring team that can evaluate the problem
and respond appropriately.
 |
 |
Care
Issue Alerts highlight care issues that clinicians may
need to address.
 |
 |
Process
Reminder Alerts are used to notify clinicians at the
point of care that a specific care process requires modification.
These low-level alerts often include hypertext links to reference material
in The Source.
